Primearth EV Energy, a subsidiary of Toyota, has planned to set up a fourth battery factory in China. Later on the completion of the plant in 2021, the manufacturer will produce NiMH batteries for Toyota hybrid cars with an annual capacity of 100,000 batteries. The Japanese manufacturer went for the fourth plant because China’s new regulations for New Energy Vehicles favoured full hybrids, where earlier PHEVs, FCEVs or BEVs were promoted. Primearth’s two plants are already under construction and the production will begin in 2019.
